The Lily Pad Lid

Every year I blog about the cool green thing my mom got me for Christmas.  So here's this years, the Lily Pad Lid by Charles Viancin.

The Lily Pad Lid

It's a really cool silicone, well, thingy.  It's hard to explain but AWESOME to use!  Mom got me 3 of them.  The smallest, is actually a Hibiscus lid, I believe, but it works the same.  They're a flat silicone mat with a little handle on them.  They're dishwasher safe and microwave safe and air tight.  Here's the website's blurb:

FDA approved silicone
• Seals Tight on all smooth rims: stainless steel, glass, plastic, melamine.
• Prevents Spills, the Lily Pad Lid creates an airtight, watertight seal for reheating and storing.
• Saves on Plastic Wrap, it can be reused and reused and reused.
• Safe for oven, microwave, freezer and dishwasher.

I use my small hibiscus lid every morning when I brew my tea.  It fits perfectly over my mug and keeps the water hot while the tea brews.  I've used the other two, the medium and large lily pad, to cover dishes to that I put in the fridge and I've used the medium one to cover a dish I was microwaving.  They really are airtight too.  We tested them with every bowl we could find.  You just lie it on top of the bowl and then lift it up by the little lily pad handle...it lifts the entire bowl!  Grab the rim of the lily pad and it comes right off. SUPER COOL, right?!?!

As I was explaining these guys I realized that I video clip would probably be best.  So I checked out Youtube and found this guy.
