This blog is a journal of how I'm working to make my home greener and healthier for my family. From cloth diapering, to organic shopping to discussing vegetarianism with a 6-year-old, I'm hoping to continue to motivate myself to push ahead in my journey to be as green and healthy as the 6 of us can be.

Out Greened!
I went to a bridal shower this weekend. As the bride-to-be was opening gifts, she was handed one that was wrapped in a dish towel (book, easy to wrap, I need to add!). What a great, GREEN idea! I've heard this before of course, I didn't think to do it! My gift was a (reusable!!!) tote with her new last name one it, filled with towels. However, the tote is very large and there weren't enough towels to fill it, so I had to supplement with blown up plastic bags (that I DID get out of the to-be-recycled pile) and tissue. I used a lot of tissue. It looked good, but it really wasn't very green. (Actually it WAS green tissue, literally!) I'm usually pretty good about reusing gift bags, and I guess my gift itself, was green since the bag WAS the gift, but I could have done without all the wasted tissue. Maybe THIS is my calling! To invent something that decorates like tissue, without the waste. FINALLY something to fill my time!
